Nominations are already coming in for Community Stars 2012

NOMINATIONS for this year’s Herald and Gazette Community Stars awards are already coming in thick and fast.

Now in its fourth year, we have given our awards a fresh, new look with new categories and some exciting prizes for the winners.

Sponsored by JSPC computer services, this year’s Herald and Gazette Community Stars Awards will see the winners – voted for by our readers – take home a trophy and a family day ticket to Butlin’s Bognor, worth £48.

The awards will, once again, culminate in a feel-good awards night at the Dome Cinema, in Worthing, in December where the winners in our 15 categories will be revealed.

Last year’s awards night was filled with laughter and emotion as we met some of the real unsung heroes from our towns and villages.

But before the big night, we need your help.

Do you know an amazing volunteer, an inspirational teacher or pupil, or do you know a child who has been brave beyond their years?

Is there a person or group out there who you think deserves some recognition for the selfless work they do?

Some exciting new categories this year include an award for the parent or grandparent of the year so if you think your Gramps is a champ or your mum is the best you can get, let us know.

We also have a new animal magic category so pets do not miss out on recognition for being the cutest or most clever in the family!

We need your nominations now, so what are you waiting for?

Nominations

People can send us nominations using the form printed every other week in the paper, or, new this year, we are accepting nominations by email.

You can send details of the name of the person you would like to nominate, which category you would like to nominate them in, the reason why, your name, your telephone number and your Community Star’s address and telephone number to [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected].

In the weeks leading up to the awards, we will be publishing stories on some of the most inspiring and heart-warming nominations we receive.

And, when it comes to voting time, we will print a special supplement, listing every single nomination with a voting form for our readers to help us find our winners.
