Mrs Sheila Marsden has been named the winner of the 2020 Parishioners’ Award by Rustington Parish Council.

She replaced Harry Clark, a former Parishioner of the Year, who stepped down after 30 years’ dedicated service.

The award is made on an annual basis, in recognition of outstanding public service to the community, and all Rustington parishioners or individuals from outside of the parish who make an outstanding contribution for the benefit of the community of Rustington are eligible.

The winner receives £50, together with the Austen Beard Trophy.

The award was originally scheduled to be presented to Mrs Marsden by council chairman Jon Street at the reception following the annual civic and thanksgiving service in September, however, as this has had to be cancelled due to Covid-19, the award will now be presented in person in the near future.
