It will take place on Saturday, December 5, at the Steyning Centre from 10am-4pm and will feature a huge varity of original gifts.

The event is much to the relief of the artisitic community which, like many others, has been struggling following the cancellation of the Steyning Art Trail and many other exhibitions this year.

Eve Chalcraft, one of the Steyning Arts organising team, said: “We’ll be making safety our top priority. The whole event is being designed to be Covid-safe, with plenty of room to circulate and a strict limit on the number of visitors allowed entry at any one time.”

Amongst the treasures will be hand-crafted jewellery, ceramics, colourful Christmas decorations, delicate paper-cuts and lampshades, lino prints, textile garments and art, a variety of original mini assemblages and sculptures, hand-made cards, and more.

There will also a pop-up art exhibition happening in parallel in the Steyning Centre’s Saxon Room next door.

“Come along to see how local artists have been directing their talents and creativity during lockdown; it’s really impressive,” said Eve who showing some of her mixed media pieces.

Entrance to the event is free and parking is available at the nearby Fletchers Croft car park.

As well as keeping careful control of visitor numbers, everyone will be asked to wear masks and go the extra mile to make it a safe and pleasurable shopping experience for everyone.

“Why not make this a Covid-safe first stop in your festive foraging this year,” said ceramicist Jenny Wightwick, one of the twenty artists who will be exhibiting at the fair.

“No crushing crowds jostling for identical mass-produced, forgettable items. No frustrating delayed deliveries to be missed because you dared pop out for five minutes. Instead, come and enjoy a much more festive and relaxed ‘shop local’ alternative.”
