Worthing couple found in bed together died by suicide

Joan and Trevor Roberts were discovered by a family member on March 13 at home in Alinora Crescent, Goring.

An ambulance was called and Joan, 69, and Trevor, 78, were confirmed to be dead by paramedics after they arrived.

The method of suicide, which this paper has chosen not to print, was the same for both of them.

The inquest was held at Crawley Coroner’s Court on Tuesday, October 20.

In her written conclusion, senior coroner for West Sussex Penelope Schofield said: “It is clear they had both decided to end their lives in this way.”

Joan was a retired visual merchandiser and Trevor was a retired electrical engineer.
