Worthing Easter egg collection offers over 1,000 eggs for town’s most vulnerable children

An Easter egg collection is looking to bring some holiday cheer to Worthing’s most vulnerable children.

Melanie Peters initially set out to collect 250 eggs – two each for the 105 children served by Worthing Soup Kitchen and those of the Russell Martin Foundation, a youth charity offering children support in sport, education and opportunity.

But after donations from friends and local businesses brought more than 1,000 eggs, she has broadened her horizons in support of other local charities.

She has now started collecting for Superstar Arts, The Hope Charity, Springfield’s, the Worthing Food Foundation, Kamilia Kids Day Nursery, Maybridge Community Church, Safe in Sussex, Autism by the Sea and Ashdown Centre.

Melanie Peters has collected more than 1,000 Easter eggs for charity SUS-211203-095329001

Donate eggs at Cocks Kitchen & Deli, The Durrington Café, Jordan’s Café or I love Candy Sweet Shop or make a financial donation to Mel’s PayPal www.paypal.me/mellyp1111 or message her Facebook page. The cut-off is March 25.
