Worthing teachers named among best in Sussex

The best teachers and other unsung heroes in Sussex schools were rewarded last night at the Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards 2020. Organised by children’s wellbeing cause the KM Charity Team, the virtual ceremony, streamed live on Facebook, featured photographs and video clips of delighted winners, plus a video message of support from best-selling children’s author David Walliams.

Among the top ten champions of Sussex were Cath Pankhurst from Summerlea Community Primary School in Rustington, who was named Sussex Teaching Assistant of the Year, and Tom Ritchie from The Angmering School, who won Sussex Secondary School Teacher of the Year. There were also district winners from Shoreham, Angmering, Rustington, Steyning and Worthing.
