Pett and Pett Level

Oklahoma!: “Oh what a beautiful evening” - to paraphrase the words of a famous song. Seventy farmers, cowboys and their gals packed into the transformed Village Hall last Saturday for a sing-along to the famous film “Oklahoma”, and enjoyed an appropriate pork and bean casserole, followed by delicious chocolate brownies. The hall was decorated with ‘corn as high as an elephant’s eye’ (in the shape of hay bales), a sun was shining in the ‘medder’ (meadow) and imaginary surreys with fringing on top! There were prizes for the best turned-out guy or gal and a well-supported raffle. More than £400 was raised towards hall funds.
