Phones 4u branches close as firm enters administration

THOUSANDS of jobs are at risk after high street mobile phone retailer Phones 4u entered administration on Sunday (September 14).

The national chain, which has a store in Montague Street, in Worthing, will close 550 standalone stores while a decision about the firm’s future is made.

The news comes after a number of major network providers cut ties with Phones 4u, which employs nearly 6,000 staff across the country.

PwC is expected to be announced as administrator later today.
