PHOTOS: A24 chaos after air ambulance called to bus and van crash
Emergency services including the air ambulance were in attendance at the serious collision at Washington roundabout which happened at about 7.30am today (January 15).
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said a man was airlifted to hospital after firefighters cut him out of the van using hydraulic gear.

Hide AdParamedics assessed and treated three other people at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “The bus has several passengers, one of whom is believed to have suffered minor injuries.”
Firefighters have laid down sand after the crash saw oil spill on to the road.
The northbound carriageway was closed following the crash.
Both carriageways have reopened.
Police have warned of icy conditions in country roads near the crash scene.

Hide AdThe bus service was Metrobus route 23 from Worthing to Crawley via Horsham.
A spokesman said its route diverted to schools in Horsham during term-time.
