PICTURES: Fire crews tackle blaze at landmark building
Fire crews are currently tackling a blaze at the former Luxor cinema building in Lancing.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that they were called out to South Street, Lancing after reports of smoke issuing from the ground floor window of a building.
Eyewitnesses have reported that the building in question is the old Luxor cinema building, one of Lancing’s best-known landmarks.
Three appliances were sent out, they said – one from Shoreham fire station, one from Storrington and another from Worthing.
A breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a covering jet are all in use, they added.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has since tweeted that another fire engine had been dispatched.
