Allie Beddard, one of the organisers, said everyone had fun and everything provided was free.

Children demonstrated their skills in the Tarring’s Got Talent and dogs were put to the test in Our Pet’s Got Talent.

There was also a junior town crier competition, with support from Worthing town crier Bob Smytherman.

He said: “It’s just great seeing so many people having fun and enjoying themselves. It was a really great atmosphere and the park was really busy.”

The day was blessed with sunshine, which was appreciated after last year’s picnic had to be moved indoors due to torrential rain.
