PICTURES: Poetry week at Worthing school

YOUNGSTERS dressed up as old and new nursery rhyme characters to round off a special week.

Thomas A' Becket First School, Worthing, held a poetry week, during which the children heard poems, had a go at writing their own and then dressed up as someone from their favourite poem or nursery ryhme.

Jane Hardcastle, literacy co-ordinator at the school in Pelham Road, said: "We had characters ranging from Incy Wincy Spider, Old Mother Hubbard to Jack and Jill and many more old and new favourites.

"We had a fantastic week."
