PICTURES: S Club bring party to Worthing

There ain't no party like an S Club party, as the song goes.

And Tina, Bradley and Jo had the crowds in Worthing living up to the lyrics as they headlined the town’s Christmas party event.

Performing under the name S Club Party, the trio whacked out some noughties nostalgia for the revellers that had congregated in Montague Place to see them.

They sang their hit songs Reach, Bring it All Back and Don’t Stop Movin, which were well-received by revellers.

People took to Facebook to express their feelings.

Amanda Holland said ‘nice to see another well attended event for all ages in Worthing’, and Liz Smith said of one of their hits: ‘What a tune. Loved this growing up’. Nessy Lynn said ‘singing our hearts out, still know the words’ and Marlene Smith said it wasn’t just for young people, commenting ‘I’m 68 and think it’s good’.

The event was organised by Worthing Town Centre Initiative. Town centre manager Sharon Clarke said: “We wanted a family name and their songs are still played at parties today. We wanted to have a big Christmas party in Worthing, with S Club reaching for the stars.

“We wanted something that was going to make the town feel positive and S Club’s songs are the sort you can dance to.”
