Playden

Marion Lovell, Abingworth, New England Lane

First, my apologies for getting the special shopping in Rye a whole week too early. It all happens THIS week and looks to have something for everyone. On Saturday 8th, Rye High Street will be pedestrianised all day with free parking in all the car parks. Festivities will begin at 12 noon and conclude with the raffle draw somewhere between 7 and 8 pm. Tickets are £1 and the main prize is £1,000. Worth a go?

Cynical me wonders if the pedestrianisation is a try- out for doing that very thing more permanently. What would not be permanent though, is the free parking which is available on 8th, 15th and 22nd of December.
