Playden village voice

It is just a tad galling to wake up to a beautiful sunny morning the day AFTER the Open Gardens second day was as wet as it gets to begin with.

But garden lovers are a hardy bunch, and visitors came anyway when it cleared up after lunch, and were very complimentary. The Saturday was fine and warm and the Friends of Playden Church benefited from lots of people exploring Playden. Very many people worked really hard and their efforts are much appreciated. It seems that the early figures indicate that we may have raised about £750, which will be useful when the spire has to be re-shingled.

The Iden and Playden Garden Society has its Summer Show on Saturday 30th June at 2.30 pm. There will also be produce, a raffle and refreshments. This all takes place in Iden Village Hall. The trophy presentation will be at about 3.30 pm.
