Poisoned meat was intended for foxes, agency says

PARTS of Durrington have been labelled ‘poisoning hotspots’ for wild animals after the Animal Welfare Enforcement Agency received a report of meat being laced with poison.

It is thought the tampered meat, found in Chilternn Crescent and Cotswold Road, was intended for foxes – a criminal offence.

A spokesman for the Animal Welfare Enforcement Agency said: “There were reports of a similar sort earlier in the year and last year. It’s quite common.

“The main goal is to raise awareness and find someone who may have information we can use.”
