Police executed a warrant.

According to police, the girl and her friend were walking along Worthing promenade yesterday afternoon when the suspect, who was part of a group of four men walking in the opposite direction, carried out the assault.

Police said the man said nothing as the assault took place and then continued walking.

He is described as aged 40-50, of average height and build, wearing a zipped camouflage jacket and dark trousers. He is also bald, but with wisps of grey hair, heavily tanned and wore a large gold stud or disc in his left ear. He was also carrying a bottle of alcohol, according to police.

The assault took place west of Worthing Pier near the Oxygen ride and opposite the entrance to Marks and Spencer. Police said the victim was shaken but otherwise unhurt.
