A number of yellow tablets marked with a ‘UPS’ logo were handed to police officers by door staff at a licensed premises on the weekend of February 7.

The type of tablets found have been linked to a number of people in other parts of the country being hospitalised after taking them.

Sergeant Mandy Symes from the Adur and Worthing Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “While we obviously do not condone the criminal use of this drug, this clearly presents an increased risk to those who purchase and use this drug.”

There have so far been no reports locally of anyone seeking medical help as a result of the drug.
