Police launch investigation after cars stolen from homes

Police have launched an investigation after cars were stolen from the driveways of homes in Goring-by-Sea and Steyning.

Police said a house in The Strand, Goring-by-Sea was broken into between 9pm on Sunday (February 21) and 5am on Monday (February 22) whilst the owners were asleep upstairs.

Car keys were taken from the kitchen and a blue, 2-door Audi S3 with distinctive chrome roof rails was stolen from the driveway.

Officers said a black VW Golf Estate was also taken from outside an address in Coxham Lane, Steyning, between 3pm on February 21 and 11am the following day.

Police said the two incidents are being linked.

Priority Crime Team Investigator Tom Carpenter said: “Both vehicles are yet to be recovered and it is possible they may have been parked or abandoned locally.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these vehicles or anything suspicious during these times in the Steyning and Goring areas.”
