Police release image following supermarket cash theft

Police have released an image of two women following a cash theft at a Wick supermarket.

The CCTV image shows two women that police would like to speak to in connection with the reported theft of £50 from Morrisons in Hawthorn Road.

A police statement said: “A 30-year-old local woman told police she had used a self-service checkout at Morrisons in Hawthorn Road, Wick at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 3 May. She requested £50 cashback but forgot to take it.

“She was halfway across the car park when she realised, and when she returned the money had gone. It has not yet been handed in to police or supermarket security.

Any witnesses, including the two women shown in the image, are asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting reference 1460 of 03/05.
