Brown is described as white, 6’1” and of muscular build, with short dark cropped hair.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “When last seen that morning he was wearing prison clothes, a green t-shirt with orange shoulder patches and light green trousers, but may well have discarded them since then.”

Detective chief inspector Dave Wardley-Wilkins of Sussex Police said: “We have been making widespread enquiries to establish the background to Brown’s disappearance and to find him, especially across the south east where he has family and associates.

“There is currently no evidence that Brown poses a direct physical threat to members of the public, but in view of the seriousness of his offences, including a history of violent offences, we advise anyone who knows where he is, or who has any other information, not to approach him but to contact the police right away.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or 999 quoting serial 732 of April 10, or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
