“Realising he couldn’t get out, the man hit the glass pane at the top of the sliding door causing it to crack.

“Still unable to leave the booking hall he climbed back over the railings, into the subway, and out of the side exit.”

Investigations to date have enabled officers to isolate a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

PC Smith added: “I have no doubt the man captured on CCTV has information about the incident and I call on anyone who knows him to get in touch.”
