Police seek witnesses to town centre altercation

A MAN has been charged following an altercation with a woman in Worthing town centre.

Frank Jackson, 33, unemployed, of no fixed address, appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court, on September 29, charged with two offences of threats to kill, common assault, criminal damage and two breaches of a restraining order. He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Chichester Crown Court on October 20.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.

At about 4pm on Thursday, September 25, an altercation took place between a man and woman, known to each other, at the west end of Montague Street, near Jimmy’s Fish and Chip shop.

Nobody was injured but at one point a chair is said to have been raised as a threat by one of the pair.
