The proposed plans would have seen the replacement of a dwelling following the demolition of an existing dwelling at Little Wephurst on Walthurst Lane in Loxwood.

They were rejected by Chichester District Council following objections over the size of the proposed replacement home and its proximity to a public right of way.

The applicant appealed the decision in the hopes an independent planning inspector would overturn the decision.

However the inspector refused the appeal due to ‘the effect of the proposed dwelling on the character and appearance of this part of the countryside.’

As part of the original consultation process Ifold and Plaistow Parish Council was among those which objected to the application.
