Chairman Frank Wilkinson said: “On-street parking in Shooting Field has caused concern for residents and road users for many years, in particular for the safety of children who walk to the two schools in the area.

“Single and double yellow lines are being proposed to help improve road safety and prevent dangerous parking near junctions.”

A road safety review of the B2139, between Storrington and Amberley, will also be presented to the committee.

Members requested the report so they could consider introducing a lower speed limit on sections of the road currently subject to the national speed limit.

Washington Parish Council has applied to reduce the 60mph limit in The Pike, London Road, and The Bostal to 30mph.

A representative from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will be at the meeting to present details of the proposed merger of fire rescue services.
