During a meeting of the borough council’s planning committee on Wednesday (March 10), members approved plans demolish the old Shopmobility shop in the Liverpool Gardens car park and set up a prefabricated building for the clinic.
The permission is for two years, though the meeting was told that it was only likely to be needed for 18 months before the new care centre, in Stoke Abbott Road, is opened.
Once the clinic has moved on, the building will be removed and extra parking spaces added to the car park, with new pedestrian accesses opened on the east and west sides.
