Running from Saturday November 7 to Saturday 14 November the week will see a number of events across the county celebrating science, games, the future of reading and all things tech.

Starting with ‘Get Stuck in Day’ on November 7 visitors can take part in a number of free workshops at Crawley Library looking at coding, robot building, wearable technology and graphic novel design.

There will also be a Minecraft treasure hunt, as well as a 25-seater mobile planetarium provided by Sussex University.

On the same day Bognor Regis Library will stage an introduction to ‘Magic the Gathering’, the fantasy strategy card game played by 20 million fans worldwide.

Meanwhile Worthing Library will be hosting a ‘YouTube for seniors’ session.

Then on Tuesday November 10, Burgess Hill, Crawley, East Grinstead, Horsham, Chichester, Rustington and Southwick libraries will aim to find West Sussex’s ultimate team of eggheads, with a Geek Week Quiz.

The following day Worthing Library will present a lunch-time talk ‘Simply Out of This World’ as Nigel Peake, the father of Chichester astronaut Tim Peake, speaks about his son’s bid to become the first Brit to fly to the International Space Station.

Friday November 13 may prove unlucky for some, when Crawley Library invites teams to solve clues in order to break free from their ‘Escape Room.’

To round the week off in style, on Saturday November 14 Burgess Hill, Chichester, Crawley, Goring, Hassocks and Storrington libraries will hold a Big Board Games Day.

And for the finale Worthing Library will be screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in a movie night where everyone is encouraged to dress-up and sing along.
