A WELL loved resident of the Spring Lodge care home, Madeira Avenue, Worthing celebrated her 103rd birthday on Monday.
A party was held for Enid Wells at the care home on Saturday with 25 people attending.
Guest included Enid’s brother Ernest, 89 and the family and friends of the homes other residents.
Enid said: “I love to be with these people. They’re my friends and it’s lovely.”
There was a buffet, a guitar player and songs at the party.
Enid received flowers, chocolates and perfume.
Manager of Spring Lodge, Anna Jarszak has known Enid since January of last year. She said: “She’s amazing. She’s very helpful even though she’s 103.”
Resident, Alice Greenyer, 98 added: “She’s wonderful for her age. She’s always happy.”
Enid grew up in Findon and married Wally Wells who she said she loved very much. Wally unfortunatley passed away before they could start a family.
Anna said the secret to Enid’s long life was her belief in God and her good health.
