Primary school children visit Felpham college

Felpham Community College opened its doors to students from local primary schools and The Regis as part of the annual School Council Day run by FAB (Felpham and Bognor Heads).

The students took part in a number of workshops and activities including dance, art and IT. Neil Jarvis, from The Body Shop, shared an inspirational insight into the issues facing children in Nepal and encouraged students to make the most of their right to an education.

An act of craftism focused on the plight of migrant children and all were encouraged to use their voice in order to make a difference in the modern world; to make change happen.

Michelle Kelly, assistant headteacher and co-ordinator for the event, said: “Our Student Council and Rights Respecting Student Ambassadors have played a key role with both the organisation and delivery of this event. It has been empowering to see students from as young as year 1 through to our sixth form working together and being encouraged to voice their opinions and ideas. We are looking forward to building on the day and forging links with the students in Nepal”.
