Pupils await GCSE results

Thousands of students across the Observer area are today (Thursday) eagerly awaiting their GCSE results.

Pupils will be collecting their results this morning, with hopes high that the local picture will reflect the expected national rise in the overall passrate.

Among the success stories is Manhood Community College in Selsey which has achieved its best results in a decade with 53 per cent of its students achieving five or more GCSE's which grades A* to C.

Reports and pictures from local schools will appear on the website later today.
