A Yamaha quad bike was stolen along with petrol hedge cutters and strimmers.

The entrance to three private fields, also in Horsham Road, was also broken into on the same evening.

Police said metal fencing was cut with an angle grinder to gain entry and tyre marks were left on the grass.

Officers added they believed the marks left on the field were made by a quad bike.

Nothing was stolen but the intruders left a wheel barrow behind.

Police said they believed both incidents were ‘certainly’ linked due to the similar location and the time both break-ins occurred.

Another break-in was also reported in Kings Barn Lane towards the end of December.

Police said a summer house at a property was broken into between 5pm on Wednesday December 23 and 5pm on Monday December 28.

The lock was broken by the intruder and a quantity of power tools were stolen including a cordless Makita drill set, a cordless Makita hammer drill and a specialised disc cutter.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said although the incident may not have happened on the same night as the previous break-ins police were not ruling out the possibility all three could be connected due to the items which were taken.

Anyone with any information on all three incidents is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 or email [email protected]
