Races raise money for thechurch despite poor weather

THE annual Rockabilly Races raised around £500 for Udimore Church despite being hit by bad weather on Saturday.

Entries were a little down but some intrepid runners made a success of the event, with one young runner completing the difficult cross country course in bare feet.

The races were for all ages and abilities and there was a good entry for the junior race.

There was live music and entertainment provided during the afternoon at Parsonage Farm, which provided the starting and finishing point for the races.

Organiser Robert Wheeler said: “We had hoped to have raised more but were affected by the weather.

“It was a miserable day made better by some brave runners.”
