After a complex restoration project of a rare Second World War Dunkirk ‘Little Ship, a Worthing man is intending to raise money for charity with its sale.
Kes Travers is expecting to gain £22,000 for the vessel, which is thought to be one of only three built, which helped rescue British troops in France.
The boat was one of many stars during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebratory procession on the Thames this summer. There have already been a number of bids for Anne on ebay, with the auction due to close this Sunday (Sunday, November 11).
Mr Travers intending to raise money towards a new boat building school in the area, Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion.
“I will be sad to see her go, but if I am able to sell Anne, but a lot of good will come from it in helping charities and setting up the boat building school.”
