A DEVASTATING fire ripped through a residential home after two pensioners lit a crafty cigarette.
Fortunately, for the residents of ‘Marlborough Court’, Worthing, the fire wasn’t actually real life.
The realistic scenario was set up as part of West Park CofE First and Middle School’s annual newspaper day on Wednesday – and reporter Oli Poole was invited along to lead 118 budding journalists through the series of mock press conferences, interviews and news writing tasks.
The Year sevens were acting as editors, reporters and photographers, tasked with producing a newspaper front page.
