The RAF display team agreed to stage a seafront flypast from east to west at 11.49am. They decided to include Bognor on their route to a performance above Bournemouth. Mr Jones said: 'It's big boost to us to have the Red Arrows here. I hope I can persuade them to take part in a manoeuvre or two.'

An aerobatic display by stunt pilots is also taking place at 3.40pm on Saturday.

n A full programme of entertainment is lined up throughout the weekend.

The performances start at 11am on both days. Those taking part include the Balandis-Lilley Ballet School, Aziza Egyptian Dance Group, Kyushim Ryu Ju-jitsu club, Stagestruck children's dance group and the Alton Morris Dancers. The attractions will take place on the seafront decking east of the pier, in front of the pier, Waterloo Square and The Esplanade.
