Fears arose that the scheme was under threat after Durrington and Salvington county councillor Trixie Hall wrote to residents informing them that she intended to ask for the scheme to be removed from the Worthing County Local Committee (CLC) infrastructure priority list.

Cllr Hall said the plan, to install table junctions at Whylands Avenue and Bramble Lane, would be better deferred ‘until a broader traffic study can be completed’.
