RSPCA appeal for support

A local RSPCA centre which rehomes abandoned cats is urgently appealing for funds as it fights for its own survival.

The Bluebell Ridge Cattery in Hastings needs 150,000 if it is to stay open, as donations continue to fall sharply during the recession.

The centre opened nine years ago and at the moment has 50 cats and kittens being cared for.

However money is running out fast, so the RSPCA is urging the public to organise fundraising events themselves, and is also asking residents to think about leaving the centre some money in their wills.

Donations can be made by sending a cheque to Bluebell Ridge, Chown's Hill, Hastings TN35 4PA, or through the Bexhill branch shop in Western Road.

To find out about sponsoring a pet and other fundraising opportunities, visit www.bluebellridge.org.uk, or call Julie on 01424 752121.

The cattery is open 11am to 3pm every day except Thursdays.
