Rye Council confirms its precept charge

Rye Town Council confirmed on Monday that its precept this year will be set at £122,100.

It represents an increase of 1.1 percent, following several years of zero increase.

The precept is used to fund town council services including the allotments.

This means an average Band D home-owner in Rye will be paying £66.57 per annum, which comes to £1.28 a week - an increase of 8p per week on last year’s precept.
