School 'improving rapidly,' say inspectors

MANOR Primary School, Uckfield, was judged to be 'a good school that is improving rapidly' by Ofsted inspectors.

An inspection took place in July, a week before the end of the school year.

The school was said to give children a flying start and the quality of teaching, leadership and management results in a good quality education which is evident in the latest national test results which are some of the highest the school has known.

Ofsted's report stated that because of the excellent care, guidance and support that pupils receive, their personal development and well-being are outstanding and pupils are prepared well for their future lives.

Margaret Coleman, headteacher, said: 'We are delighted with the report. 'We have wonderful pupils, great staff and a supportive governing body who will continue working together to build on our success so far, towards even greater results for all our pupils in the future.

'I am very proud of Manor School.'

Chairman of school governors, Kim Savage added: 'When you read comments such as "pupils look after one another exceptionally well and really do enjoy their learning," there is very little more you can want from a school.'
