FATHER CHRISTMAS and his helpers will be on hand for a school’s festive fundraising fayre, on Saturday
There will be more than 20 stalls on offer for visitors to Durrington High School’s Christmas fayre, which is on from 11am to 2pm, with entry by donation.
As well as Santa and the stalls, there will be musical entertainment courtesy of the school choir, a roller disco, face-painting and the chance to win a Kindle Fire and a Christmas hamper.
The event will also feature an appearance by 7ft tall Paul the Polar Bear, who is starring in Santa Claus the Movie at Worthing’s Connaught Theatre.
Karen Purser, community and enterprise manager at Durrington High School, said: “The Christmas fayre is always a fun and lovely event and I would like to encourage all the community to come and support it.”
Dreams Come True, which supports terminally and seriously ill children, will be the main beneficiary of the event.
Four year-11 girls from the school – Silan Anil, Lucy Holliday, Zoe Linfield and Louise McDermott – won a national competition run by the charity to design Christmas cards, which will be sold across the country in aid of the charity, and their card designs will be launched on sale at the fayre.
Tina Ellis, of Dreams Come True, said: “We are delighted with the Christmas card design produced by the students. These cards will be sold to help raise funds so we can continue to make dreams come true.”
