Former pupils of Findon Village School gathered in the village for the annual reunion, which included old school photographs.
Classes from the 1930s to late 1960s were invited, along with the current headmaster at St John the Baptist CE Primary School.
Among the photographs on display at the Village House Hotel, in The Square, Findon, were ones of sports day, maypole dancing and the Queen’s coronation in June 1953.
Brother and sister Alan Hards and Frances Wood were among the guests and memories included the unique lunchtime system, known as Staying Early, which included training the children to serve at the table.
The school had no toilet facilities until the drainage came to Findon in the 1960s – there were only buckets.
Bob Fell, whose great-grandfather moved to Findon in 1874, has been organising the reunions since 2011. His grandfather was there the day the new school opened in 1875.
