Schoolgirl abseils for Worthing homeless charity

A SCHOOLGIRL will be abseiling 90ft down a cliff to raise money for a homeless charity.

Sara Woodard, a pupil of The Angmering School, has been busy baking cakes to raise sponsorship for the charity abseil in aid of Worthing Churches Homeless Projects.

The 13 year old has been taking the cakes into school to sell to pupils and staff. So far she has raised £85 towards her target of £100.

Sara will be abseiling 90ft down the cliffs at Peacehaven, along with 70 others on Saturday (JULY 7) in aid of the charity which supports individuals out of homelessness and into independent living.

Louise Brooks from the charity said: “We are very impressed with the entrepreneurial spirit of Sara and are grateful to the staff of The Angmering School for allowing her to sell the cakes in support of the charity. The abseil is one of many fund-raising events that we organise throughout the year to enable us to continue to support vulnerable members of the community out. We are delighted that Sara is taking part.”
