Lucy’s family and friends joined teachers and staff at Chatsmore Catholic High School, Worthing, to remember Lucy and pay their respects to the bright former pupil, who died of a brain tumour last year, aged 16.

Speaking to the Herald after the ceremony, Lucy’s mum, Antonella Goulding, said: “I felt like choking as soon as I saw the garden because I felt my Lucy was missing. Chatsmore has been amazing and has helped to counteract all the hardship and pain.

“It’s a beautiful tribute and, hopefully, people will find peace, joy and love for themselves here because that’s the message she wanted to give to us.

“I will be forever grateful to Chatsmore. No words of thanks are good enough, they have supported me and my family all the way. I can’t ask for a better community.”
