A DURRINGTON Scout leader has been selected to take part in the Queen’s Baton Relay as part of the Commonwealth Games countdown tomorrow.

Tim Armer, assistant Scout leader with 2nd Durrington Sea Scouts, was nominated by his employers Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems UK in recognition of his commitment to scouting for the last 24 years. He will carry the baton through Maybole in Ayrshire.

“Scouting is a big part of life for me. It’s great that I can personally enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor adventurous activities whilst sharing these with the young people, watching them explore and learn, having fun and in turn, passing their new skills on to others in a safe and respectful environment.”
