Second chance to sign online flood petition

AN ONLINE petition against building on Adur flood plains has been re-launched.

The petition, drafted by Jemima Bland, Liberal Democrat candidate for East Worthing and Shoreham, opposes developments on the flood plain, such as 600 houses at New Monks Farm, Lancing.

Ms Bland said: “Because the recent heavy rains have emphasised the folly of Adur Council’s plan to allow building on the flood plain, I want local people to have another chance to express their views.

“All around the country we see the devastating effects of poor planning decisions and yet Adur Council seems not have learnt the lessons.

“It must listen to local people and exclude the New Monks Farm proposals from the Adur Local Plan.”
