This is always a great family day out. They have some great attractions this year including Water Walkers and New laser storm. There will be many side stalls, fantastic raffle prizes, games, bric a brac, books and dvd sales. There will plenty on offer eat and drink so come hungry and thirtsy as there will be a Pimms tent, barbeque plus all the delicious strawberry themed cakes and dishes to enjoy not to mention ice cream as well. During the afternoon there will be the crowning of the flower princess who will ride in the vintage car parade at the village fayre and flower show in July. The grand opening of the Yurt will also take place along with two storytelling sessions, maypole dancing, karate demonstration plus much, much more.

Sedlescombe School’s Adult Swimming session continues on every Tuesday evening 7 - 8pm at £3.00 per person, whatever the weather. Please arrive at 7pm, or phone the school 01424 870585 if you are going but will arrive later, so that they know to expect you. The pool is heated, and the water is waiting for you to make a splash

Don’t forget that you are invited to a coffee morning at Sedlescombe Primary school on Tuesday July 3 from 10.00 to 11.15am in the hall, in support of a past pupil, Kimberley Glen, who is going out to Kenya in February 2013, to work with disadvantaged children.

The next monthly Coffee Morning and Mini-Market, sponsored by the Parish Church, will be held in Sedlescombe Village Hall on Thursday 5 July at 10.00am until 11.30am. As well as coffee and cake, there will be stalls selling cakes, jams etc, bric-a-brac, books, plants and bird food, a raffle and for 50p, a chance to be weighed, accurately and in confidence. A warm welcome awaits you.

Sedlescombe & District Garden Society have an additional Members’ Meeting planned for the evening of Friday July 6 at 7.30.p.m. at Sedlescombe Village Hall. Helen Yemm, the Daily Telegraph Gardening Correspondent, will be giving an illustrated talk entitled “Downsizing without Tears”. This talk is her experiences about moving house and how she endured the hours of renovating her garden into something wonderful. There should also be time for a short question and answer session. The ticket price which includes refreshments is £2.50 for Members of the Society and £5.00 for Non-Members. All are welcome.

Many congratulations to Sedlescombe Players who performed The Amorous Ambassador on four nights at the village hall last week, another triumph for Tara Buchanan, all the actors and backstage technicians. I know that a lot of hours goes into these productions but also that a lot of fun is had by all that are part of the group. If you think that you would like to try and tread the boards or get involved behind the scenes then why not go along to Sedlescombe hall on Monday July 9 at 8pm for a read through of their next play which will be the thriller “Guilty Secret”. The Open Gardens for St Michael’s hospice next week are all in Hastings Old Town on Friday, July 7 once again not just one but several will be open for you to view. Refreshments are being served at St Mary Star of the Sea, the Bourne, Hastings from 10.30am to 4pm so that is probably a good place to start .
