A PIONEERING woman who brought together a community and helped lower youth crime rates in East Worthing by starting up a youth club has died.

Cynthia Dudas was well known for her work in the community, co-founding the Stray Cats youth club 18 years ago with her friend Joanna Broad and setting up the East Worthing festival.

Cynthia, formerly of Chester Avenue, in Worthing, died of pneumonia aged 70, leaving behind four children, Katie, Kelly, Debra and Julian.

Katie, 29, of Archibald Road, Worthing, said: “She was very strong willed, she would give anything to anyone not just in a materialistic sense but in the way of love and friendship. She brought the community together and always put others first.”
