Sensory garden plans to be discussed

PLANS for a sensory garden in Lancing will be consulted on during a special open day.

Lancing Regeneration Community Committee will take over Queensway Parade by the Queensway Café tomorrow from 9am-1pm.

On the day, there will be a workshop on plans to build a sensory garden in South Street, which has been short-listed in Adur District Council’s Pot of Gold funding.

The group is also bidding £80,000 to help save the high street and is hoping for funding for seafront toilets and various community events, including a drive-in cinema and monthly markets.

People will also be asked to help plan future events for the area, and there will be the chance for children to make “Lancing bloom” by creating spring flowers and feathery birds.

And those who answer the group’s questionnaire could win a number of prizes, including a three-course meal for two at The New Sussex Hotel.

There will also be the chance to see a collection of photos of the area and meet the commitee’s members.
