Seven sentenced for heroin and cocaine supply in Littlehampton

Six search warrants were executed simultaneously at addresses in Littlehampton on April 24 with the support of more than 50 officers from across various teams within West Sussex Division.

As a result the seven, who all pleaded guilty, have been sentenced at Chichester Crown Court to terms of imprisonment.

Aldo Oringa, 27, formerly of Ringmer Road, Worthing, was sentenced on October 10 to four years and eight months imprisonment, for five offences of supplying crack cocaine, one of supplying heroin, three of being concerned in supplying heroin, and two of being concerned in supplying crack cocaine, on dates in January and February this year.

Robert Warren, 41, of Tarrant Street, Arundel, was sentenced on October 12 to 52 weeks imprisonment suspended for 20 months, for supplying heroin on March 5.

Matthew Shillibeer, 18, of Linden Road, Bognor Regis, was sentenced on September 28 to 20 months detention and training order, for two offences of supplying crack cocaine, and one of supplying heroin, in January and February.

A 17-year-old boy from Worthing, was sentenced on September 28 to 20 months detention and training order, for five offences of supplying crack cocaine, one offence of supplying heroin, two offences of possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and two offences of possession of heroin with intent to supply, on various dates between February and April this year.

Paul White, 21, of Velyn Avenue, Chichester, was sentenced on September 28 to two years imprisonment, for five offences of supplying crack cocaine, two of supplying heroin, and three of being concerned in the supply of heroin, on dates in January and February this year.

Stevie-Jane Johnson, 25, of Greenfields, Littlehampton, was sentenced on September 28 to 42 months imprisonment, and had £1041 cash confiscated, for an offence of supplying crack cocaine, an offence of supplying heroin, two offences of being concerned in the supply of heroin, and five offences of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, on dates in February and March.

Jerome Spencer, 18, of Blackheath Rise, South East London, was sentenced on September 28 to 20 months detention and a training order, and had £2335.73 cash confiscated, for two offences of supplying heroin and two offences of supplying crack cocaine during March.

Sussex Police hopes the action against people responsible for possessing and supplying drugs within the town will send a clear message to drug dealers.

Chief Inspector Jane Derrick said: “This success re-affirms our commitment not to tolerate the supply and distribution of illegal drugs in this area. If you choose to make life a misery for those who you are dealing to then we will catch up with you. We will use every available opportunity to target you and to make your life as uncomfortable as possible. If you deal drugs in this area you can expect to be arrested, prosecuted and ultimately imprisoned.

“When people become addicted to drugs and in particular hard drugs the affects on the those individuals is evident very quickly. People who become drug dependent will almost always have to turn to crime to fund their addiction and so the social impact is far reaching.”
