Shoreham students bid for fashion success

STUDENTS are hoping to set the catwalk alight at a charity fashion show.

Sixth-formers at King's Manor Community College, Shoreham, will hold the show in aid of Southern FM's Help a Local Child appeal.

Eight students from the school are organising the event '“ dubbed Fashion on Fire '“ and have persuaded high-street retailers,

including New Look and Miss Selfridge, to lend them outfits.

Goodie-bags, a raffle and finger food will be laid on for guests, while clothes from Rock Lobster, in Shoreham, will also

be modelled.

Nineteen-year-old Marie Davut, one of the show's organisers, told the Herald: "We are going to be showing them on a catwalk. It is all for charity.

"We thought we would support a local charity rather than a national one. It is a really good cause."

Students, both male and female, from the school will act as models at the show, which will be held at 6pm on Monday, April 23.

The girls are looking for sponsorship from local businesses, as well as any donations of raffle prizes or items that can be given away in the goodie-bags on the night.

Anyone who can help the girls is asked to call 01273 274102 and leave them a message on the answering service.
